CSOs with Observer Status

CSOs with IOM Observer Status can participate in IOM's annual Council session and IOM's International Dialogue on Migration (IDM).

The Council is the highest authority of the IOM. It meets in regular session once a year and in special sessions at the request of one third of its members, the Director General or the Chairman of the Council in urgent circumstances. 

IOM's annual IDM presents an additional opportunity for CSOs to participate in global policy dialogues on migration. Founded in 2001 and rooted in IOM’s Constitution and Strategy, the IDM is IOM’s principal forum for migration policy dialogue.
