Distribution of non-relief items in September 16th at the SHED compound close to the Kutupalong Makeshift Settlement and Refugee Camp.  

Refugees from five nations living in Medan, Indonesia with IOM’s assistance provided 20 street children and dozens of local residents a special “spa day” treatment prior to the Idul Adha holiday weekend. Fourteen young Afghan, Iraqi, Iranian, Palestinian and Sudanese men who graduated from a three-month hair stylist vocational training program organized by IOM have been volunteering their talents at orphanages and other facilities since mid-2017.

Refugees under IOM care in Indonesia who've completed a vocational training program provide free haircuts to street children and residents of their host community.

These little girls had lots of fun at Haj Ali emergency site's new playground, built with the generous support of the U.S. Association for International Migration. The girls took part in recreational activities that involved teams of two girls each; the girls in each team had one of their legs tied to their partner’s, so they had to work in unison to reach the end line. On the way back, they had to carry a potato in a ladle, without dropping it, to complete the circuit.

Half of the displaced Iraqis at Haj and Qayara emergency sites are under the age of 17. They did not have enough recreational spaces to release stress and frustration caused by displacement.

IOM conducts an NFI distribution of mattresses to IDPs living within an IDP camp in Lahij govenorate, Yemen. Many of those living within the camp have fled from nearby govenorates where the ongoing civil has been spreading into their neighborhoods. IOM's consutrction project in Micronesia is one of the misson's largest project with the construction of hundreds of houses and public infrastructures across several islands that were impacted by the effects of typhoon Haiyan.

IOM's medical team at Haj Ali emergency site's health center provides health care support for dozens of displaced Iraqis every day. Among the displaced are Iraqis recently displaced from Talafar, the last major ISIL stronghold in Iraq. Iraqi forces started their offensive on Talafar last week.
