Antigua and Barbuda became a Member State of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on 5 December 2011. 

Since then, IOM in Antigua and Barbuda has implemented several projects in various fields, including an assessment of mechanisms addressing mixed migration flows and the needs of the most vulnerable migrants in Antigua and Barbuda; providing technical assistance to the government by developing procedures and integrating best practices for identifying and providing assistance to the most vulnerable migrants; and other activities in the area of counter-trafficking.
