IOM has more than 480 Country Offices and Sub-offices worldwide. Their key responsibilities are to analyze national migration issues and emerging trends and to plan, develop and implement projects and programmes to address these in coordination and consultation with their respective Regional Office.
IOM’s Regional Offices oversee, plan, coordinate and support IOM activities within the region. The Regional Offices are responsible for project review and endorsement and provide technical support to Country Offices, particularly in the area of project development. The nine Regional Offices and their geographical coverage are as follows:

- San José, Costa Rica (Central and North America and the Caribbean)

- Brussels, Belgium (European Economic Area)
- Vienna, Austria (South Eastern Europe, Eastern Europe and Central Asia)
