Libya Remains Top Priority for UN Migration Agency: DG Swing in Tripoli
Tripoli – IOM, the UN Migration Agency’s Director General William Lacy Swing returned to Tripoli where he reiterated that Libya remains IOM’s top priority.

Geneva – IOM, the UN Migration Agency, reports that 115,109 migrants and refugees entered Europe by sea in 2017 through 2 August, with almost 83 per cent arriving in Italy and the remainder divided between Greece, Cyprus and Spain.
Somalia Drought Response Enhanced through UN Migration Agency, UNDP, Government Partnership
Mogadishu – In the wake of a severe drought in Somalia that has displaced more than 800,000 people, the Government of Somalia has joined forces with IOM, the UN Migration Agency, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enhance its drought response capacity.

IOM Responds to Sudden Displacement Caused by Severe Flooding in Yemen’s Shabwa Governorate
Shabwa – On 20 July 2017, IOM, the UN Migration Agency team in Shabwa, a governorate in the south of Yemen, reported a displacement of 130 families (780 individuals) who had to abandon their houses, losing all their belongings, caused by the severe floods in the area.
IOM Conducts Camp Coordination and Camp Management Training in Response to Ongoing Drought in Somalia
Baidoa - The Camp Coordination and Camp Management Cluster (CCCM) conducted its first ever training in Somalia on Wednesday 26 July 2017. The one day training in Baidoa facilitated by the UN Migration Agency (IOM) focused on training participants on the basics of Camp Coordination and Camp Management, the roles and responsibilities of CCCM, and community participation and engagement.
