Kristina Touzenis is a Programme Manager at IOM, Rome. She has an LLB and LLM from the University of Copenhagen. She has been working in Italy for the past 6 years, including 3 for IOM and has been teaching both post and undergraduates at the Universities of Trieste and Pisa. Her research focuses on the human rights of women and children and she has published on both international human rights and international humanitarian law issues. She is currently researching issues related to transnational organised crime and human rights. She has managed programmes on irregular migration in West African and the Maghreb and is involved in various projects related to legal research on migration laws in these regions and she consults on issues related to the protection of migrant children and children’s rights.
