Nakos S. Athanasios, MP Magnesia, ND. Born in Volos on 8.1.1950.

Parliamentary Activity: He was elected first MP (ND) for the prefecture of Magnesia in the general elections of 1993, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2007. He was member of PABSEC (Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation).

Political - Social Activities: Deputy Minister of Home Affairs since 10.3.2004. In the period 1973-77, worked in Athens as a supervisor of public hydraulic works. Since 1977, has worked in the private sector on technical projects, and run a number of construction businesses. In particular, he dealt with construction and industrial projects in Volos. He was chairman of ND Parliamentary Work Group for Agriculture (1994-1996) and for Industry, Energy and Technology (1997-2000). He also served as vice-chairman of ND party committee on Transport and communications, ND head of Rural Development sector (2000-2001) and ND head of Development sector (2001-2004). In 1990 he ran for candidate mayor in Volos. He did his military service as a reserve officer of Engineering.
