Benefiting Member States
Armenia
With a growing number of persons residing in and traveling through Armenian territory, the Government of Armenia (GoA) is actively developing a new migration policy and restructuring the legal and administrative frameworks related to visa provision. This encompasses the establishment of a new Visa Unit within the newly established Migration and Citizenship Service (MCS) and the revision of visa policies and procedures associated with e-visa processing. In this context, the objective of the proposed project is to contribute to the enhancement of pathways for regular migration to Armenia, through improved visa issuance systems.
Support will be provided to enable the GoA to develop and apply policies and practices that streamline visa procedures in line with international standards (Outcome). To do this, IOM will work to reinforce the capacity of the Visa Unit and to elaborate related strategic documents and administrative procedures through the availability of international best practices (Output 1.1), increased knowledge on practices and principles concerning identity management and visas (Output 1.2), improved capacities to process e-visa applications (Output 1.3) and, finally, an updated e-visa portal and case management system (Output 1.4).
