Italy - IOM reports an estimated 227,316 migrants and refugees entered Europe by sea in 2016 through 3 July, arriving in Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Spain.

Switzerland -  IOM has appealed to donors to address the humanitarian crisis affecting the Lake Chad Basin and the crisis in the Central African Republic.

Italy - IOM reports an estimated 225,095 migrants and refugees entered Europe by sea in 2016 through 30 June, arriving in Italy, Greece, Cyprus and Spain.

Nigeria - The IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) project is currently being implemented in 13 of Nigeria’s states – Abuja FCT, Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe, and Zanfara – covering a total of 218 local government areas (LGAs).

Papua New Guinea - IOM and the National Agriculture Research Institute (NARI), with support from the US, EU, and the Australian Governments, have launched a seed distribution programme across drought-hit areas of Papua New Guinea (PNG), benefiting almost 10,000 people.

South Sudan - Relief agencies, including IOM, are providing emergency assistance to displaced populations in Wau town, South Sudan.

Sudan - A new Rapid Response Fund (RRF) grant of USD 202,230 has been allocated to the NGO Triangle Génération Humanitaire (TGH) to provide emergency shelters and non-food relief items to over 1,400 vulnerable families recently displaced from Chad to the Um Dukhun locality in Central Darfur.

Iraq - The IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has identified and confirmed the location of 3,317,394 displaced Iraqis across the country from 1 January 2014 to 8 June 2016.
