On 31 October, the world will be convening in Glasgow for the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the UNFCCC to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Climate change affects the livelihoods, health and safety of people; and it shapes people's decisions to migrate. Over 200 million people could become internal climate migrants or displaced by 2050 (World Bank, 2021).
We must act jointly across all levels, while involving everyone. At COP26 we must deliver for humanity, for its dignity and for future generations.
