The main office of the mission is in Bangui, with four additional sub-offices in Boda, Ndélé, Paoua and Kaga Bandoro.

Programmes and Activities

SIRIRI – Support for the Stabilization and Immediate Recovery of Communities at Risk in CAR
August 2015 – August 2017
Donor: European Union

The SIRIRI project ("Peace" in Sango) implemented in Bangui, Boda, Kaga-Bandoro and Ndélé is part of the ongoing transition process in the Central African Republic. This project aims to contribute to community stabilization and the rapid recovery of communities at risk by focusing on three main and complementary objectives:

  1. Revitalize the local economy and support the immediate recovery of communities affected by the conflict through the implementation of remunerated High Intensive Workforce (THIMO) activities to strengthen peaceful coexistence and promote the resilience of youth at risk.
  2. Support and strengthen social cohesion in communities at risk of conflict through the rehabilitation of community infrastructure and support for inclusive dialogue between communities and local authorities.
  3. Increase community perception of the benefits of "living together" through the implementation of strategic, sporting and socio-cultural communication activities in close collaboration with civil society.

The project is based on three types of activities: Labor Intensive Workforce (THIMO) for more than 40,000 beneficiaries; the rehabilitation of more than 20 community infrastructures; and social cohesion (socio-cultural and sporting events, training on non-violent communication) for more than 300,000 beneficiaries.
